One of the things i noticed in the destructions is hardie s recommendation to use joint flashing for the color plus line.
Proper flashing at the bottom of hardie siding and tyvek.

Did not attach the hardie board to plywood so there s just the house frames them tyvek paper then the hardie board nailed to the frames.

After all the reading i have done i m still unsure of installing the hardie lap siding directly to the tyvek.
If the kick out and step flashing can t tuck behind the siding screw on cap flashing to cover it then caulk along the top.
Jamb flashing should extend at least 2 inches past the exterior trim because there will be a vertical joint where siding meets the trim.
Bowa recommends using 9 inch wide tape for jamb flashing.
Nail it to the sidewall or glue it if nailing isn t possible.
Slip in the flashing.
Cut a slit in the sheathing wrap along the entire length of the water table and slip the upper leg of the flashing under the wrap see illustration.
Hardie says it s fine.
That joint should be protected.

1 install a strip of felt across the bottom of the rough opening and fold the top of this strip inward sill flashing 2 install splines along the sides of the rough opening overlapping the sill flashing with bottom edge of splines 3 install window unit 4 wrap entire building tuck lower wrapping under sill flashing.
Cover with cap flashing.
Did not overlap or kick out that bottom board it s actually flush with the stucco.
I have several choices.
Did not install flashing where the bottom board of the gable ends meets the stucco.
